It is with great sad­ness that we an­nounce the pass­ing of Mur­dock ‘Ju­nior’ MacQueen on Thurs­day, Au­gust 10, 2017 peace­fully at home. Born in New Water­ford to Mur­dock and Faye MacQueen on Oc­to­ber 31, 1949.

Mur­dock is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife of 43 years Joanne (Walsh); son, Christo­pher (Re­nata); daugh­ter, Tracey (Shawn); grand­chil­dren, Kate­lynn, Matthew, Emily, Christo­pher and Loa­gen; broth­ers and sis­ters, John, Blair, Brenda (Frankie), Gail (Tommy) and Wayne who will miss him dearly. He is pre­de­ceased by his par­ents, mother-in-law, Roseanne Ma­son; broth­ers-in­law, Mickey, Frankie, Ste­wart, Den­nis, Car­son and sis­ter-in­law, Rosie. Ju­nior worked at the Syd­ney Steel Plant for over 30 years, then af­ter re­tire­ment trav­elled to Al­berta and worked as a pip­efit­ter. He was an hon­orary mem­ber of the KOC in New Water­ford and en­joyed stop­ping in for a drink and a laugh or two.

Ju­nior was an avid out­doors­man; loved mak­ing trips to Gabarus hunt­ing and fish­ing ac­com­pa­nied by his son-in-law, Shawn; bud­dies Kenny, Dinx and Keith. In the early years he en­joyed hunt­ing and fish­ing with his two broth­ers-in­law Ste­wart and Frankie and his trips with Ger­ard to Lake Ainslie and the many tara­bish games with good friend, Wayne. He also en­joyed his many fish­ing trips with his son, Chris and grand­sons, Christo­pher and Loa­gen as well as head­ing to the track with his sonin-law, Shawn. He was never one to turn a meal down and so en­joyed his fam­ily suppers at Gail and Brenda’s. He was a gen­tle­man who catered and spoiled his girls Tracey, Kate­lynn and Emily.

He will al­ways be re­mem­bered for his sense of hu­mor and con­ta­gious laugh.

Cre­ma­tion has taken place and a chapel ser­vice will take place Mon­day, Au­gust 14, 2017 at 2 p.m. with Dea­con Leo Penny of­fi­ci­at­ing fol­lowed by a lun­cheon at the K.O.C., Plum­mer Ave., all are wel­come.
