Festival fun at park
Fifth annual Acoustic Roots performers announced
The Acoustic Roots Festival organizers have announced the performers for its fifth annual event to be held Sept. 1-3 at Two Rivers Wildlife Park.
The list of performers taking to the stage for Acoustic Roots 2017 features fan favourites and some emerging artists. Performers include: Adam Young, Alycia Putnam, Colin Grant, Crowdis Bridge, Darrell Keigan, Donnie Campbell, Dwayne Cote, Gillian Head, Jason MacDonald, Jason Price, Joe Gillis, John Curtis Sampson, Kim Dunn, Kyle MacDonald, the cast of Lyrics and Laughter, MacArthur Dancers, Makayla Lynn, Mi’kmaq Singers and Dancers, Pretty Archie, Robert Bouchard and Ryan Roberts.
Musical workshops featuring step-dancing, fiddling and songwriting, will also be held during the festival.

Coinciding with the festival weekend, the park will also be hosting the annual horse show.
Acoustic Roots performances begin at 6 p.m. on Sept. 1 with an 11 a.m. start on Sept. 2 and Sept. 3.
The annual festival provides an opportunity to showcase Atlantic Canadian talent including a strong Cape Breton component.
The 500-acre site at Two Rivers Wildlife Park offers a variety of activities and services for festivalgoers including onsite camping, walking trails, fish ponds, wagon rides, petting zoo, canteen, observatory and WiFi.
Two Rivers Wildlife Park is located on the banks of Cape Breton’s Mira River, 28 km outside of Sydney at 4581 Grand Mira North Rd., Huntington.
The campgrounds have several serviced sites as well as a new visitors centre with

Plenty of people dropped by last year’s Acoustic Roots Festival at Two Rivers Wildlife Park in Huntington to hear the musicians perform. This year’s festival takes place Sept. 1-3.
