Glace Bay

It is with heavy hearts that we, the fam­ily, an­nounce the sud­den pass­ing of Blair Caume at home on Septem­ber 13, 2017.

Born in Re­serve Mines, Blair was the son of the late Ray­mond and Vera Caume.

Blair will be sadly missed by his wife, San­dra; daugh­ter, Deb­bie (Mark); sons, Blair (Leah) and David (Jus­tice). He is also sur­vived by sis­ters, Louise, Muriel (Mur­ray), Va­lerie (Steve); broth­ers, John (Au­rora), Jerry (Karen), Wayne, Dale (Cathy), and Dana (Carol). Blair will be missed by his grand­chil­dren, Jas­mine, Brit­tney, Bianca, Lau­relle, Nathan, Jil­lian, Jacque­line; as well as many nieces and neph­ews.

Be­sides his par­ents, Blair was pre­de­ceased by his brother, Ray; grand­daugh­ter, Emily; fa­ther-in­law, Roy; mother-in-law, Ruby and nephew, Greg.

Blair worked at Syd­ney Steel for 30 years and upon its clo­sure he was em­ployed for Com­mis­sion­aires, Nova Sco­tia work­ing at Syd­ney Air­port. He truly en­joyed this po­si­tion as he got to meet many peo­ple from Cape Bre­ton and abroad.

Blair was in­volved with the Le­gion for a pe­riod of time where he held po­si­tions of Zone Com­man­der and Pres­i­dent of Re­serve Mines Le­gion Branch 2. Blair was also an avid col­lec­tor; he en­joyed look­ing for that hid­den trea­sure.

In keep­ing with Blair’s wishes there will be no visi­ta­tion.

A me­mo­rial ser­vice will be held 1 p.m. Tues­day, Septem­ber 19, 2017 at the T. J. Tracey Cre­ma­tion and Burial Spe­cial­ists, 370 Re­serve St., Glace Bay, NS 902-849-4199.

Dona­tions may be made to the Nova Sco­tia Lung As­so­ci­a­tion or a char­ity of choice.
