Two face drug charges af­ter New Water­ford search

NEW WATER­FORD — Po­lice seized Ri­talin, hy­dro­mor­phone and mar­i­juana dur­ing a search of St. Joseph Street home on Wed­nes­day night.

As a re­sult a 28-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman have been jointly charged with pos­ses­sion for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing in methylphenidate, pos­ses­sion for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing in hy­dro­mor­phone, traf­fick­ing in methylphenidate, and pos­ses­sion of mar­i­juana.

The man and woman were ar­rested at the scene, but have been re­leased from cus­tody and will ap­pear in court a later date. The Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Po­lice Ser­vice and Royal Cana­dian Mounted Po­lice in­te­grated drug unit con­ducted the search at the New Water­ford ad­dress.
