Annual MacKayla McGean Bottle Blitz begins today

FLORENCE, N.S. – An annual fundraiser in support of MacKayla McGean will take place starting today in the Northside community.

The 19th annual MacKayla McGean Bottle Blitz fundraiser will run today until Saturday. Money raised will help with expenses for McGean, who travels to Halifax for medical appointments.

McGean was born without eyes or eye sockets. She has a non-functioning pituitary gland.

Friends and family host the event each year and will be going door-to-door in the community collecting bottles for the fundraiser. The main drop off date will be Saturday.
