Bomb threat evacuates Memorial
SYDNEY MINES — A bomb threat caused the evacuation of Memorial High School on Tuesday.
The threat was called into the Sydney Mines high school between 1-1:30 p.m.
The Cape Breton Regional Police searched the building and found no bomb inside. Regional police are considering the threat a hoax. Nobody was hurt in the incident.
Once police deemed the building safe, students returned to the school for classes.
This is the second incident at Memorial High School since Thursday, when the school was evacuated and classes later cancelled after a smoke signal canister was set off inside the building.
