Bomb threat evac­u­ates Me­mo­rial

SYD­NEY MINES — A bomb threat caused the evac­u­a­tion of Me­mo­rial High School on Tues­day.

The threat was called into the Syd­ney Mines high school be­tween 1-1:30 p.m.

The Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Po­lice searched the build­ing and found no bomb inside. Re­gional po­lice are con­sid­er­ing the threat a hoax. No­body was hurt in the in­ci­dent.

Once po­lice deemed the build­ing safe, stu­dents re­turned to the school for classes.

This is the sec­ond in­ci­dent at Me­mo­rial High School since Thurs­day, when the school was evac­u­ated and classes later can­celled af­ter a smoke sig­nal can­is­ter was set off inside the build­ing.
