Inverness County man sentenced to federal prison

SYDNEY — One of two Inverness County brothers has been sentenced to a federal prison term in connection with shooting last June in Skye Glen.

Justin Francis Goswell, 27, of Skye Glen is to serve a two-year, 11-month sentence after pleading guilty to charges of careless use of a firearm, possession of a firearm while prohibited, and possession of marijuana. The charges relate to the shooting of another man in the leg. The victim and the brothers are known to each other. Meanwhile, James Edwin Taylor Goswell, 33, is to be sentenced Feb. 13 on charges of aggravated assault and possession of a prohibited weapon.
