Trial date set

SYD­NEY — A 50-year-old Syd­ney man charged with a host of of­fences in­clud­ing us­ing a ve­hi­cle as a weapon will go to trial in May.

Mur­ray Mal­colm Mor­ris of Riverview Drive is charged with as­sault, as­sault caus­ing bod­ily harm, as­sault with a weapon (a 2003 Honda Civic), fail­ing to stop at the scene of an ac­ci­dent, dan­ger­ous driv­ing, re­sist­ing ar­rest and as­sault­ing a po­lice of­fi­cer.

The of­fences are al­leged to have oc­curred July 9 in Syd­ney. Mor­ris has been re­leased on con­di­tions that in­clude he have no con­tact with four peo­ple, stay away from Cos­sitt Heights Drive, not pos­sess any weapons and he is pro­hib­ited from driv­ing. Mor­ris is now sched­uled to ap­pear for a pre-trial con­fer­ence Jan. 8 and go to trial May 15.
