Glace Bay man back behind bars
SYDNEY — A Glace Bay man will serve the remainder of his conditional sentence behind bars. While conditional sentences allow offenders to serve their time in the community rather than a jail cell, any breach of the conditions of that sentence could result in the remainder of the time being served in jail. Shawn Carl Leonard MacLean, 39, of York Street must now serve 202 days in jail after pleading guilty to breaching his sentence by tampering with his electronic monitoring ankle bracelet. MacLean was a placed on conditional sentence earlier this year on unrelated offences.
