Ses­sion to pro­mote un­der­stand­ing of LGBTQ+

SYDNEY — A lo­cal ini­tia­tive aimed at help­ing man­age­ment and staff of Cape Bre­ton work­places be­come stronger al­lies of the LGBTQ+ com­mu­nity will take place Thurs­day.

The Pride in the Work­place vir­tual train­ing ses­sion will be hosted by the Cape Bre­ton Part­ner­ship, a pri­vate sec­tor-led eco­nomic de­vel­op­ment or­ga­ni­za­tion, through its Con­nec­tor Pro­gram.

The ses­sion, which starts at 10 a.m., will fo­cus on lan­guage used in the work­place and the im­por­tance of us­ing the right pro­nouns. A ques­tion and an­swer pe­riod is also sched­uled.

The train­ing will be held via the Zoom we­bi­nar plat­form and will be fa­cil­i­tated by con­sul­tant and en­tre­pre­neur Veron­ica Mer­ry­field.

The ses­sion will be capped at 100 par­tic­i­pants but the we­bi­nar will be recorded and made avail­able on the Part­ner­ship’s web­site.
