Grateful for seniors advocacy

-

Re. “Care for seniors no better with NDP,” Letters, Sept. 23

It is so great that a doctor, Dr. Douglas Duke, wrote his letter. I am a senior over 90 and live alone in my home. I worked for 30 years and paid off the mortgage on my home. I have never wished to be a burden to the government. I have a strong mind and an attitude of optimism. The seniors are not the squeaky wheel.

We hear that “seniors” are living too long. Life goes so quickly and if you get there, you will understand. We are someone’s mom or dad to be proud of, not ignored. I am full of gratitude that Duke spoke up for us. K. Grekul, Edmonton
