Colin Firth is in negotiations to play a bank president in Mary Poppins Returns. The 56-yearold actor is in talks to play William Weatherall Wilkins, the president of Fidelity Fiduciary Bank, in the family movie reboot, Variety reports. Firth is the latest addition to what’s shaping up to be an all-star cast, including Emily Blunt as the magical nanny, Lin-Manuel Miranda as her lamplighter friend Jack and Ben Whishaw and Emily Mortimer as grown-up Michael and Jane Banks — the young children the beloved nanny cared for in the 1964 film. Mary Poppins Returns will be set 20 years after the original. Julie Andrews, whose portrayal of Mary in the original won her an Oscar, and Dick Van Dyke, who played chimney sweep Bert, may make cameos in the new film.
