JAGR SCORES MILESTONE 750TH NHL GOAL
Jaromir Jagr of the Florida Panthers became the third player to score 750 career goals in Thursday’s 4-2 loss to the Washington Capitals. The 44-yearold winger ranks third all-time in NHL goals, behind only Wayne Gretzky (894) and Gordie Howe (801). In Pittsburgh, Evgeni Malkin, Scott Wilson and Patric Hornqvist scored within a 7:15 span in the third to lift the Penguins to a 3-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks in a rematch of last June’s Stanley Cup final. First-period goals by Tomas Hertl and Patrick Marleau gave the Sharks a 2-0 lead. In St. Paul, Minn., Eric Staal had a pair of goals including the gamewinner at the 11:53 mark of the third to lift the Wild past the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2. Zac Dalpe had the other Minnesota goal. Auston Matthews scored his fifth goal of the season for Toronto. Roman Polak had the other Leafs’ goal.
