Byfuglien pays price for slash­ing penalty

Win­nipeg Jets de­fence­man Dustin Byfuglien is among three NHL play­ers fined for penal­ties Wed­nes­day. Byfuglien will lose US$5,000 for slash­ing Wash­ing­ton Cap­i­tals for­ward Jay Bea­gle Tues­day. The Cap­i­tals’ Madi­son Bowey was fined nearly $2,000 for in­ter­fer­ence in the same game. The Ve­gas Golden Knights’ Deryk En­gel­land was fined just more than $2,500 for cross­check­ing in a Tues­day game against Chicago.
