Edmonton Journal - - CITY -

The death of a man who disappeared last year has been deemed a homicide, police said Tuesday. Chad Stevenson, 41, was last seen in the Cy Becker neighbourhood on Nov. 7. His vehicle, a 2006 Pontiac Montana, was found March 20 near 51 Street and 162 Avenue. Police erected a large white tent nearby. Utility workers then discovered Stevenson’s body April 16 in a new residential development north of McConachie Drive and 57 Street. Stevenson died as a result of blunt force trauma, Edmonton’s medical examiner ruled after an autopsy Monday. Investigators believe Stevenson may have died in 2017. As a result, his death brings Edmonton’s 2017 homicide count to 45. Anyone with information about Stevenson’s death is asked to contact Edmonton police or Crime Stoppers.
