STYLE EXPERT HAS EYE ON DESIGN

Edmonton Journal - - HOMES -

Can wood panelling ever be chic? How many throw pillows is too many? And should toilet paper fall over the roll or under?

These are the questions that can keep an interior design junkie up at night. Fortunately, Queer Eye expert Bobby Berk has the answers, at least how he sees them. In a video for Airbnb, Berk gives his rapid-fire opinions on 20 topics.

Yes, wood panelling can work. Fifty throw pillows are too many. And any toilet paper that falls under the roll isn’t fit for bathroom consumption.

Berk also weighed in on what current trend we’ll regret in 10 years.

“Mauve,” he says. “Just like we regretted it when they did it in the ’50s.”

Other design crimes include venetian blinds and hanging Christmas lights indoors, while Japanese toilets and 1970s decor get the thumbs up.
