Longtime dc Comics editor fired amid sex scandal
not unlike with Louis C.K., eddie berganza and the allegations over sexual behaviour that trailed him had become an open secret within his industry.
ber-ganza, an editor for a quarter-century at dc Comics, has been fired, dc entertainment and parent company Warner bros. announced monday.
“We are committed to eradicating harassment,” dc Comics said in a statement. berganza, who was the dc Comics Group editor, had guided Wonder Woman, Superman and Supergirl books, and most recently edited the special Dark Knights: Metal series.
berganza had remained employed at dc despite years of allegations against him over unwanted sexual advances and contact, reported buzzfeed news.
on Friday, buzzfeed reported that two women said berganza had engaged in such behaviour more than a decade ago. berganza was promoted to a higher editing post in 2010 despite complaints to human resources, but was demoted just two years later, reportedly after an alleged unwanted sexual advance at a comic convention. dc Comics had suspended berganza the day after the buzzfeed news report was published.
