Pepsi drink draws tweets
Salted caramel holiday version criticized
What does a sugary drink need more of? Sugar, of course! Don’t worry, Pepsi has you covered.
The soda giant is releasing a new salted caramel-flavoured drink in the U.S. just in time for the holidays.
The company describes the pop as “an indulgent new, limited-time flavour which blends the refreshing taste of cola with a delicious caramel finish.”
Twitter users had a different way of describing the cola.
“This tastes like watery pepsi that someone threw a single dirty caramel into,” one user wrote.
“My palate wasn’t ready for the subtle hint of eating ROLOS in a zoo bathroom,” added another.
“I just bought a Salted Caramel Pepsi. It tastes like someone put a pancake covered in syrup in a Pepsi bottle,” another user responded.
The new Pepsi drink is part of a limited-edition holiday line from Pepsico, which also includes Mtn Dew Holiday Brew — yum!
The company’s Japanese counterpart also released a Christmas cola which apparently tastes like cake.
Pepsico says the white drink has a “sweet and sour strawberry flavour” which is reminiscent of traditional Japanese Christmas cakes.
