ELLE (Canada) - - Elle Letters -

Your eye-opening, heartwrenching article on the plight of North Korean women [ELLE World, April 2014] reminded me how privileged many of us are. In sharp contrast to other articles in the same issue, which presented topics concerning women today (washing your face the right way, retro romance), this highlighted how women in less-developed countries are confronted with more existential problems, like starvation and forced marriages. I’m impressed that ELLE Canada always manages to combine current world political, economic and ecological issues with fashion, beauty, style, relationships and travel. Like the modern woman, you have many facets. Keep on challenging us. EVANGELINE DE MACEDO, SWITZERLAND
