ELLE (Canada) - - Elle Letters -

While waiting for my mother, who was having a manicure, I read Noreen Flanagan’s editor’s note, “Fashion Memories” [March 2014]. I was touched by the fashion moments she had shared with her mother and by her mother’s determination, despite her illness, to travel to Toronto to spend time with her daughter. Three years ago, we lost my father. My mother, despite her sadness, has maintained her interest in fashion and looking her best. Like Noreen, I also believe that fashion has the power to influence our mood and state of mind. By striving to “look as fabulous as ever,” as expressed by Angie Morris [“Fashion Fix,” ELLE Profile], we are comforted and empowered in confronting the obstacles presented to us. MICHEL ANTHONY LUKACSY, WELLAND, ONT.
