TAIT THE GREAT

The LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize winner is on top of the world—but there are still a few things that London-based Thomas Tait misses about his

hometown, Montreal.

1. “The sunshine—that’s something we don’t get that much of in London. Maybe I’m missing my vitamin D

more than anything!” 2. “There’s a vegan restaurant in Montreal called Aux Vivres. I took my dad there without telling him it’s vegetarian

because otherwise he would never have gone, and

he absolutely loved it!” 3. “As a kid, I spent a lot of time

at One Million Comix, just off Sainte-Catherine Street, flipping through the illustrations. I was

really big into drawing.” 4. “I miss my family. My sister’s a cop, so I kind of miss sitting in the back of her cruiser and pretending to the people driving in the next lane

that I’m a criminal!” 5. “Montreal’s Old Port has great boutiques and bakeries.

When I was in college, I worked at a boutique called Reborn, so I spent a lot of

time in that area.”
