The woman who makes Beyoncé flawless.

One Woman 100 Faces ($55), a beautiful leave-it-on-the-coffeetable-to-impress tome, is a collaboration between renowned makeup artist Francesca Tolot, her photographer husband, Alberto, and her model muse, Mitzi. Tolot is as big as it gets: She has been doing Beyoncé’s makeup for shows—including 37 of her music videos—for a decade. Before Mrs. Carter, she worked for Helmut Newton and had Elizabeth Taylor as a long-standing client. She may be constantly up to her elbows in makeup while on set, but Tolot’s beauty philosophy is simple: “Makeup should not be a mask that covers your features and spirit; it should complement your face and let your true features show.”
