Plan ahead—and then go far away—to get the most hap­pi­ness out of your trav­els. Sev­eral re­cent stud­ies sug­gest that the an­tic­i­pa­tion of a trip (all those fan­tas­ti­cal ex­pec­ta­tions) can ac­tu­ally gen­er­ate more plea­sure than the hol­i­day it­self. It also turns out that the far­ther away from home you go (and the more fre­quently), the hap­pier you may feel—at least, ac­cord­ing to your tweets (so says an anal­y­sis of lan­guage and geo­tags used on Twit­ter).
