1. “NOMI is a blend of my mother’s name, Naomi, and ‘know me.’ My catch­phrase is ‘To know me is to know you,’” says the brand’s creative di­rec­tor, Jul­lianna Smith. 2. Smith’s de­but spring/ sum­mer 2015 col­lec­tion of tai­lored suits, knitwear and tees is dec­o­rated with pat­terns de­rived from sketches by her late mother, who was an artist. “I wanted to wear my heart on my sleeve, al­most like a tat­too.” 3. “My mom could hold the at­ten­tion of a room just by her style and pres­ence.
