PUT A RING ON IT

Elle (Canada) - - Wedding Special -

All the married women at ELLE Canada have unique engagement rings; from heirloom rubies to serpent-shaped bands, we’ve got the non-traditional thing on lock. That’s why we were so excited to hear that Canadian jewellery designer Erin Tracy has launched a customizable bridal collection. Here’s her advice on

standing out from the crowd: What are good alternatives to

traditional diamonds? “Grey diamonds are stunning and precious-looking—a great option for someone who wants a bigger stone at a lower price point. I also like raw diamonds and raw sapphires—they’re not as refined as what you would

normally see.” What are some unique shapes

and settings to try now? “You often see oval coloured stones or aquamarines, but they are becoming more popular in diamonds. Setting a stone east to west makes a ring more original. I like going one step further with a halo setting and doing a double halo or using black dia

monds around the stone.”
