Making your own rules has never looked, or sounded, so good. EDITOR’S POV In Peter Nichols’ The Rocks (a.k.a. this summer’s biggest read), we meet Lulu, a brazen white-haired hotel owner living on the coast of Mallorca, Spain, who is obsessed with perfection. Spoiler: It doesn’t end well for her. But, as Nichols reveals, it’s because perfection lies in the eye of the beholder. Actress Melissa McCarthy would agree. In place of perfection, she (and us, BTW) would like to champion a new kind of normal—the kind of normal that ends well.
