Your hair car­ries scent bet­ter than skin—a ben­e­fit, be­cause stud­ies show that the longer the smell of your sham­poo lasts, the more you think it’s work­ing. Dawn Gold­worm, a fra­grance-industry ex­pert, says that hair is a ve­hi­cle for show­ing off scent, and Adrian Corsin, di­rec­tor of hair-care de­vel­op­ment for L’Oréal Pro­fes­sion­nel, agrees: “When fra­grance is sprayed in the hair, it al­ways smells the same, whereas it re­acts dif­fer­ently when sprayed on the skin.”
