3 medium or­anges 1 cup (250 mL) sugar 10 whole cloves 2 (3-in., or 7.5-cm) cin­na­mon sticks 3/4 cup (180 mL) wa­ter 2 bot­tles dry red wine 1/4 cup (60 mL) brandy 1/2 cup (120 mL) Cy­nar 3/4 cup (180 mL) Fer­net-Branca Cheese­cloth or fine strainer Zest and juice or­anges. Com­bine zest, juice, sugar and spices with wa­ter and bring to a boil. Re­duce by half. Add wine, brandy and liqueurs; sim­mer on low for five min­utes. Strain and serve warm.
