ELLE (Canada) - - Anniversary -

Murphy Macdonald-Rea wears many hats: She is a former competitive dancer, dance teacher, stylist and costume designer. She’s also a mentor to young girls, speaking at high schools about body positivity and self-confidence, while teaching her dance students to believe in themselves. She sees being a role model as paying it forward—her own dance teacher helped her through tough times when she was a teenager. “She taught me a lot about being a lady,” she admits. Now, she’s following her own advice: “When you’re doing something you’re passionate about, it makes it easier to look in the mirror and be happy.”

Polyester and viscose dress and goatskinleather jacket (Saint Laurent), gold-tonemetal and Lucite clip earrings (Alexis Bittar), tights (Falke) and belt (stylist’s own)
