ELLE (Canada) - - Anniversary -

“I have big, far-fetched aspirations,” admits Emily Brade, a history student at the University of Toronto. “I’d love to go to Oxford.” The selfproclaimed Type A personality has mastered the art of checking things off her to-do list: She has illustrated a book of poems, worked in copywriting at an ad agency and just revamped her entire wardrobe, tossing everything she didn’t love. Modelling is another goal of hers. You might say it runs in the family: Her mom used to be a model. The handful of gigs Emily has had gave her the confidence to be herself: “It made me accept criticism without taking it too personally,” she says. “At the end of the day, I had to accept that I am who I am and be happy about it.”
