If you’ve ever felt shivers listening to music, you a) understand frisson, the French term for “aesthetic chills” and b) are lucky. Researchers say that only 55 to 86 per cent of the population experience this “skin orgasm.” These chills are what makes music and fashion on the runway magical. “Music is always a reflection of who our woman is and the vibe of the season,” said New York designer Sally LaPointe while in Toronto for the Margaret + George charity gala benefiting Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. “Our woman is confident and sure of herself.” LaPointe worked with DJ/producer Javier Peral to score her Spring 2018 show and sent models down the runway to music from Show Me the Body, Jlin, Perera Elsewhere and Toydrum.
