Po­lice lay charges in largest fen­tanyl pill seizure in Cana­dian his­tory

Po­lice have charged four peo­ple in con­nec­tion with the largest fen­tanyl pill seizure in Cana­dian his­tory in July.

After an in­ves­ti­ga­tion that started in March, Ed­mon­ton Drug and Gang En­force­ment (EDGE) mem­bers searched a home July 5 in Ed­mon­ton, seiz­ing 67,000 fen­tanyl pills worth ap­prox­i­mately $1.9 mil­lion on the street.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors then searched three other prop­er­ties in Ed­mon­ton and an­other in Stur­geon County, where po­lice dis­cov­ered a home at 26023 Town­ship Rd. 544 that ap­peared to have been used as a fen­tanyl pill pro­cess­ing lab. In­ves­ti­ga­tors also seized more than $1 mil­lion in cash, set­ting an Ed­mon­ton po­lice record.

Lan­den Wis­bey, 33, was charged with pro­duc­tion of a con­trolled sub­stance, six counts of pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing and pos­ses­sion of the pro­ceeds of crime.

Wayne Tran, 31, was charged with pro­duc­tion of a con­trolled sub­stance, three counts of pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing and two counts of pos­ses­sion of the pro­ceeds of crime.

Den­nis Trinh, 34, was charged with four counts of pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing and pos­ses­sion of the pro­ceeds of crime.

Thinh Dinh, 29, was charged with five counts of pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing.

The four were all charged Mon­day, po­lice said Wed­nes­day.
