Two ar­rested after po­lice seize meth, fen­tanyl and cash at Ed­mon­ton ho­tel

Po­lice seized 70 grams of drugs and $7,140 in cash dur­ing a search at an Ed­mon­ton ho­tel.

Two men were ar­rested fol­low­ing a search war­rant Aug. 30 ex­e­cuted by Stony Plain RCMP and the Ed­mon­ton Po­lice Ser­vice, said RCMP in a news re­lease Fri­day morn­ing.

The drug team found 44 grams of metham­phetamine, 26 grams of fen­tanyl as well as drug traf­fick­ing para­pher­na­lia, the re­lease said.

The two men were ar­rested in­side the ho­tel and taken into cus­tody.

Cur­tis Frasier of Ed­mon­ton, 37, and Kevin Gam­lin of Spruce Grove, 38, are charged with pos­ses­sion of fen­tanyl and metham­phetamine for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing, pos­ses­sion of prop­erty ob­tained by crime un­der $5,000 and other charges for fail­ing to com­ply with a re­cog­ni­zance and out­stand­ing war­rants.

Both were re­manded into cus­tody and are ex­pected to ap­pear in pro­vin­cial court Sept. 19.
