Alannah Yip Makes Canadian History

B.C.-based Alannah Yip made Canadian history i n April. She became the f irst Canadian woman to make finals at an ifsc World Cup event when she advanced from semis in sixth place at the Chongqing stop of the Asia circuit. “Today was a good day,” said Yip after she f inished f ifth overall in f inals. “I made my f irst ifsc World Cup final and was the first ever Canadian woman to do so. I got to stand up on the big stage with five amazing climbers, women I’ve looked up to for a long time for their incredible strength, composure and grace.”
