Gripped - - 10 QUESTIONS - Gripped

Why is there so much great climbing literature compared to the output of much larger pursuits, such as running or cycling? It seems that climbing has more to offer than simply a physical experience. The physical element is there, and it’s important, but there is so much more: real adventure, the aesthetic aspect of climbing, the intellectual problem-solving, sometimes even a spiritual experience. Alpinism offers at least the possibility of all these ingredients, which can make for quite a compelling story.—
