Cana­dian Paul McSor­ley is one of Canada’s most ac­com­plished in­ter­na­tional climbers with new routes in many of the great ranges. This sum­mer, he teamed up with a strong team to com­plete the first as­cent of an of­ten talked about rock route in South Africa i n the Du Toits Kloof Moun­tains. It took the team two days to climb the 13- pitch ED1 7b+ (about 5.12) all on gear. They called it Ruby Su­per­nova.—
