Infiniti and Renault Sport F1 reveal Project Black S
One of the more interesting reveals at the Geneva Motor Show is something called Project Black S, a new performance line being considered for Infiniti with the help of the Renault Sport Formulamula One Team. The manifestation of this new potential highperformance brand, which could feature a powertrain that utilizes Energy Recovery System (ERS) technology currently being utilized in Formula One, is the tuned-out Q60 coupe pictured here. In addition to a high-performance powertrain featuring ERS, the Q60 Black S is kitted out with all manner of slick performanceinspired bodywork that includes giant front air intakes, a fixed rear wing made from carbon fibre and 21-inch wheels.no power numbers for this super Q60 have been released, but the company says a 25 percent power gain for the 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 (currently maxing out at 400 hp) is possible with an ERS hybrid powertrain. Will Project Black S find its way into production? Infiniti won't say (yet), but suggested the reveal at Geneva is designed to gauge interest. Stay tuned.
