GO RACING is our new slogan, whether you want to go racing in your daily driver at an Autoslalom event, or want to start racing a fully prepared racecar, WCMA.CA is the site for you.

WCMA.CA is comprised of sixteen car clubs in almost every city in Western Canada. These clubs hold all types of motorsport events, from Autoslaloms, where you can have some fun in your everyday street car, to full-blown racetracks, where you can race wheel to wheel with track prepared racecars.

Most of your local sports car clubs hold spring autoslalom schools, where you can learn the basics of handling your car at low speeds on courses laid out around traffic cones in parking lots, or closed areas. This is the grassroots of motorsport where many get their start into the world of automotive competition. From this you can progress to Regional and National competitions in Autoslalom, testing your skills against many of Canada's best drivers. The best thing about Autoslalom is that it doesn't take a large time or financial commitment to partake and have fun!

Perhaps you're interested in going to the next level, and competing in track events in a real racecar? WCMA.CA holds ASN Canada FIA sanctioned Racing Schools, where you can get your Racing License to compete in racing anywhere in the world of Fia-affiliated racing. In Western Canada spring licensing schools are held at Castrol Raceway in Leduc Alberta, and at Gimli Motorsport Park in Gimli Manitoba. The Northern Alberta Sports Car Club, which holds the Alberta school, has been racing for 60 years. Registration for these schools is open right now, and can be taken in any street car. Passing this school will allow you to go racing anywhere across Canada. Many of the popular classes in Western Canada are relatively inexpensive, utilizing Mazda Miatas or Honda Civics, which compete with minimal preparation apart from roll cages and safety equipment. At the other end of the spectrum, there are Porsche Cup cars and Open Wheel Formula cars for those interested in going REALLY fast!

New this year is our WCMA.CA Touring Car Championship and Formula Car Championship Runoff Event, which will be held in Gimli Manitoba. Planning is underway to make this inaugural Runoff Championship something special. The event will be hosted by the Winnipeg Sports Car Club who are celebrating their 65th Anniversary this year. It will attract competitors from across Canada to duke it out and be declared as Western Canada Champions.
