Inuit Artist Data­base Launches

Inuit Art Quarterly - - FOUNDATION UPDATE -

Af­ter sev­eral years of de­vel­op­ment, the Inuit Art Foun­da­tion launched its new on­line artist bi­o­graph­i­cal data­base on Septem­ber 15, 2017. The pub­licly ac­ces­si­ble plat­form is a cen­tral­ized re­source for col­lec­tors, gal­lerists, cu­ra­tors, artists and oth­ers to learn more about the di­ver­sity and tal­ent of his­toric and con­tem­po­rary Inuit artists, work­ing in all me­dia. The IAF is grate­ful for the sup­port of In­dige­nous and North­ern Af­fairs Canada, Mo­bi­liz­ing Inuit Cul­tural Her­itage (York Univer­sity), the Department of Cana­dian Her­itage, the Gov­ern­ment of Nu­navut and Con­cor­dia Univer­sity for their sup­port of the project, and the Foun­da­tion wel­comes pub­lic con­tri­bu­tions to the data­base from all who are in­ter­ested.
