Helen R. (Huestis) MacKay of McAdam, New Brunswick passed away July 21, 2017 at the Upper River

Valley Hospital, Waterville, N.B. Helen was born on March 22, 1922 at Wilmot Valley, P.E., the daughter of the late Earle and

Effie (Waugh) Huestis. She is survived by her children, Donnie MacKay (Joyce), George MacKay (Pam), both of McAdam, NB, Ruth McMullin (Hal), Harvey, N.B., David MacKay, Sundre, AB, Willard MacKay (Rose), Christie Ridge, N.B., Marjorie Arsenault (Lorne), Kensington, PEI, Emeline LeBlanc (Randall), Hinton, AB, Mary Ellen Leeman (Keith), Skiff Lake, N.B., Judy Collier (Jason Blakeney), Fort McMurray, AB and special grandson, Andy MacKay (Diane), McAdam, N.B. Also survived by grandchild­ren, Deanna, Corey, Kirk, Tina, Candace, Dave, Erika, Lynn, John, Brent, Elisha, Sally, Nicole, Bonnie, Rob, Brad, Sarah, Katie, Jordan and Jessie; 24 great grandchild­ren; a brother, Gerald Huestis (Fern), Summerside, P.E.; a sister-in-law, Erma Huestis, Summerside, P.E.; nieces and nephews; several step-children, step grandchild­ren and step great grandchild­ren. In addition to her parents, she was predecease­d by her husband, David E. MacKay; two sons, Robert and Gerald MacKay and two brothers, Wendell and Gordon Huestis. Helen was a pillar of strength to her family. She lived her life with unwavering faith, grace and dignity. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Voice of Pentecost Church in McAdam, N.B. with Rev. Terry Messer officiatin­g, assisted by Rev. Steven Tompkins. Scripture was read by granddaugh­ters Erika McMullin and Sarah Leeman and the eulogy was delivered by Nicole LeBlanc. Special music was provided by the Brockway Union Church Choir and pianist Susan Fudge. Interment took place at Rockland Cemetery followed by a reception at the McAdam Lions Club. Pallbearer­s were grandsons Corey MacKay, Andy MacKay, Kirk MacKay, Dave McMullin, Rob MacKay, John MacKay, Brent MacKay, Brad MacKay, Jordan Leeman and Colton Blair. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Helen, the family has suggested the Lakeland Industries Food Bank, Brockway Union Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
