Summerside man charged with robbing store at knifepoint
A 31-year-old man from Summerside was arrested Thursday morning for allegedly robbing a convenience store with a knife.
Wednesday at 11:44 p.m., Summerside Police Service received a report of a panic alarm sounding at the store.
Officers responded and staff said they had been robbed at knifepoint. They said the suspect fled the area on foot just before police arrived.
No one was injured. Police identified a suspect, who was located and arrested early Thursday morning.
The man has been charged with robbery, two counts of breach of an undertaking and possession of a controlled substance. He will remain in custody until next week.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
