Woman with child in vehicle charged with DUI on Confederation Bridge
A 34-year-old woman from Dundas was recently arrested and charged with impaired driving as she exited Confederation Bridge on the P.E.I. side. The arrest took place on Thursday at about 6 p.m. A car driving erratically on the bridge was reported to RCMP.
A witness reported seeing the car strike the sides of the bridge on at least one occasion. A roadside screening device allegedly showed the accused’s blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit. There was also a child under 10 years old in the vehicle. The accused is facing additional charges of endangering the life of a child.
The East Prince RCMP is thanking the public for its assistance in this case. Anyone who sees a vehicle being driven erratically is asked to call 911 to report the incident.
