Fish kill discovered in Cornwall
CORNWALL – Government officials confirmed Wednesday a report of dead fish discovered in
Hyde Creek in Cornwall late Tuesday.
The discovery was reported to the Cornwall and Area Watershed Group. Staff from the departments of Justice and Public Safety and Communities, plus staff from the Department of Land and Environment went to view the site Tuesday. They were back at the site Wednesday along with federal government staff on P.E.I. from the Department of Environment and Climate Change.
Water, soil, vegetation and fish samples were collected and will be sent for testing, said a notice issued by the P.E.I. government.
