Fish kill dis­cov­ered in Corn­wall

CORN­WALL – Govern­ment of­fi­cials con­firmed Wed­nes­day a re­port of dead fish dis­cov­ered in

Hyde Creek in Corn­wall late Tues­day.

The dis­cov­ery was re­ported to the Corn­wall and Area Water­shed Group. Staff from the de­part­ments of Jus­tice and Pub­lic Safety and Com­mu­ni­ties, plus staff from the Depart­ment of Land and En­vi­ron­ment went to view the site Tues­day. They were back at the site Wed­nes­day along with fed­eral govern­ment staff on P.E.I. from the Depart­ment of En­vi­ron­ment and Cli­mate Change.

Water, soil, veg­e­ta­tion and fish sam­ples were col­lected and will be sent for test­ing, said a no­tice is­sued by the P.E.I. govern­ment.
