KENSINGTON – The Town of Kensington is starting to work towards compliance to the new Municipal Governance Act.
The town’s chief administrative officer informed council recently that while the town’s policies are already mostly in line with the new act, some bylaws will require tweaking, while others will have to be drafted and adopted from scratch. For example, the town does not have a conflict of interest bylaw, so one will have to be developed.
Town staff will be bringing resolutions forward for council over the next several months to ensure the town’s policies meet the requirements under the act.
