The death oc­curred peace­fully at home sur­rounded by his fam­ily, on Tues­day, Septem­ber 11, 2018, of Gary Nay­lor, of Vic­to­ria West, and for­merly of St. Eleanors, aged 82 years. Born in Hal­i­fax, N.S., he was the son of the late Arthur and Edna (De­war) Nay­lor. Sur­vived by his wife Emily (Moore) Nay­lor; chil­dren Gar­rett (Tracey), Su­san, and Rick (Char­lotte); grand­chil­dren Marli (Steven), Cory (Ash­ley) and Krista (Josh); great-grand­chil­dren Bella, Ju­lianna, Gauge, Kather­ine, Nova and Oak­lynn; brother Bill (Ber­nice); sis­ter-in-law Lynn Nay­lor; and by many beloved nieces and neph­ews. Pre­de­ceased by his first wife Ber­nice (Swet­land); sis­ter Linda; brother Bob; in­fant great-grand­son Lyric; and by a nephew Rob­bie. Gary was grate­ful to his par­ents, brothers and sis­ter, wives Ber­nice and Emily, chil­dren and grand­chil­dren for a great life. The ex­tended fam­i­lies of Ber­nice and Emily were sup­port­ive and lov­ing. It is four­teen years since Nov. 7, 2004, when Prince County Hospi­tal Emer­gency saved his life for the first time. Thanks to all who work there and to those who re­ceived emer­gen­cies in Hal­i­fax. Grate­ful thanks go out to Dr. Kelly, Dr. Web­ber and to the mem­bers of the Pal­lia­tive Care team who sup­ported the fam­ily so well over the last two months.
