Busy week­end for Wild

Kens­ing­ton hosts two ex­hi­bi­tion games

It will be the first of many busy week­ends for the Kens­ing­ton Mon­aghan Farms Wild. The Wild opened the 201819 New Brunswick/P.E.I. Ma­jor Midget Hockey League reg­u­lar sea­son on the road Fri­day night against the Saint John Vi­tos. Kens­ing­ton will then re­turn home to host New­bridge Academy from Dart­mouth, N.S., in back-to-back ex­hi­bi­tion games at Credit Union Cen­tre to close out a stretch of three games in less than 72 hours. Game times against New­bridge Academy are 7:30 p.m. on Satur­day, and 12:15 p.m. on Sun­day. With league games played pre­dom­i­nantly on week­ends – and the Wild’s reg­u­lar home night Satur­days – Kens­ing­ton will play back-to-back games 13 times dur­ing the reg­u­lar sea­son. New faces The games against New­bridge Academy will pro­vide an op­por­tu­nity for fans to check out this year’s edi­tion of the Wild, which fea­tures a num­ber of new faces fol­low­ing the grad­u­a­tion of six play­ers and some po­ten­tial re­turnees ei­ther mak­ing the jump to the ju­nior ranks or opt­ing for other op­tions. The Wild’s reg­u­lar-sea­son home opener is set for Satur­day, Sept. 22, when the Bathurst, N.B.based North­ern Moose travel to Kens­ing­ton for a 7:30 p.m. start. The Wild is com­ing off a 2-2 (won-lost) show­ing at the league’s an­nual pre-sea­son jam­boree in Monc­ton, N.B.
