Man fined for passing bus
SUMMERSIDE – A 24-year-old man has been fined after passing a stopped school bus that was displaying flashing red lights in Summerside Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred Nov. 6 at 8:20 a.m. just outside a daycare on Pope Road.
The bus driver and another nearby witness were able to provide information allowing police to identify the vehicle and driver involved.
The driver was issued a summary offence ticket which carries a minimum fine of $1,000 and a further penalty of eight demerit points upon conviction. Summerside police received two other similar complaints this week of vehicles not stopping for buses.
Those incidents remain under investigation and further charges are expected.
