Cana­dian player Arthur Ir­win in­vented the mod­ern base­ball glove in 1885 be­cause he didn’t want to miss a game af­ter he broke two fin­gers.

At the 1962 Grey Cup in Toronto, the fog got so thick the game had to be fin­ished the next day. It’s still known (sur­prise, sur­prise) as the Fog Bowl.

Golfer San­dra Post was the first Cana­dian, and the youngest woman, to win the LPGA* Cham­pi­onship in 1968.
