Lake of the Woods Museum brings back We Are What We Eat series
The popular We Are What We Eat series returned Lake of the Woods Museum for the fall and menu for the first instalment featured fresh water ingredients close to home.
Paula Thorburn, the author of the Bush Babies children’s books and Riding in Rigs Around the Lake, and her sister Jocelyn Laffin demonstrated two fish-based recipes: pickled jackfish and fish burgers made with ground sucker fish from Lake of the Woods on Saturday, Sept. 9.
There are two more We Are What We Eat presentations in September. Betty Ander- son will demonstrate cooking Tanzanian food on Saturday, Sept. 16 and Sallie Hunt will do British food with a twist on Saturday, Sept. 23.
The presentations start at 2 p.m. and the cost is $20 per session or $18 for museum members. Pre-registration is required by contacting the museum at 467-2105.
