Lake of the Woods Mu­seum brings back We Are What We Eat series

The pop­u­lar We Are What We Eat series re­turned Lake of the Woods Mu­seum for the fall and menu for the first in­stal­ment fea­tured fresh wa­ter in­gre­di­ents close to home.

Paula Thor­burn, the au­thor of the Bush Ba­bies chil­dren’s books and Rid­ing in Rigs Around the Lake, and her sis­ter Jo­ce­lyn Laf­fin demon­strated two fish-based recipes: pick­led jack­fish and fish burg­ers made with ground sucker fish from Lake of the Woods on Satur­day, Sept. 9.

There are two more We Are What We Eat pre­sen­ta­tions in Septem­ber. Betty An­der- son will demon­strate cook­ing Tan­za­nian food on Satur­day, Sept. 16 and Sal­lie Hunt will do Bri­tish food with a twist on Satur­day, Sept. 23.

The pre­sen­ta­tions start at 2 p.m. and the cost is $20 per ses­sion or $18 for mu­seum mem­bers. Pre-reg­is­tra­tion is re­quired by con­tact­ing the mu­seum at 467-2105.
