Teen charged with sex as­sault

Po­lice have charged a lo­cal 16-year-old with sex­u­ally as­sault ing an­other youth.

On April 21, of­fi­cers started to in­ves­ti­gate an in­ci­dent in­volv­ing the two youths. A Kingston Po­lice news re­lease said that on April 18 the vic­tim had vis­ited the ac­cused’s down­town res­i­dence at ap­prox­i­mately mid­night. While there, po­lice said, an in­ci­dent oc­curred with­out the vic­tim’s con­sent. The vic­tim left the res­i­dence and later re­ported the in­ci­dent to po­lice.

On Wed­nes­day, the ac­cused turned him­self in to po­lice. The teen has been charged by po­lice with sex­ual as­sault.

His­tor­i­cal sex charges

A lo­cal man has been charged by po­lice again af­ter an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into his­tor­i­cal sex as­saults.

Last April, the ac­cused was ar­rested and charged by po­lice in re­la­tion to a 2013 as­sault against a 15-year-old vic­tim, po­lice said.

Con­tin­u­ing their in­ves­ti­ga­tion, de­tec­tives in the Kingston Po­lice Sex As­sault Unit dis­cov­ered on May 9 that the man had as­saulted an­other young girl in the sum­mer of 1999. Po­lice said the vic­tim was un­der 16 at the time and had been vis­it­ing the ac­cused, who is a fam­ily mem­ber, when they were as­saulted.

Po­lice reached out to the ac­cused and he turned him­self in to po­lice. A 55-year-old man is fac­ing four charges of sex­ual as­sault.

Re­turn to crime scene

A lo­cal man and woman have been charged by po­lice af­ter they in­ves­ti­gated a break and en­ter where the sus­pects re­turned to the scene of the crime.

Po­lice said that on May 12 at ap­prox­i­mately 8 p.m., a woman en­tered a Vic­to­ria Street ad­dress while a man waited out­side. Per­sonal items and cash were re­ported stolen.

On Tues­day evening at around 5:15 p.m., the man re­turned to the ad­dress, where he was ar­rested. The woman was also later ar­rested.

Both were charged by po­lice with break and en­ter. The man was also charged by po­lice with breach of pro­ba­tion.

Woman at­tacked in home

A lo­cal man has been charged af­ter po­lice said a woman was at­tacked in her home.

Po­lice said the ac­cused went to his ex-girl­friend’s res­i­dence Mon­day where he al­legedly be­came an­gry with her and at­tacked her. Dur­ing the al­ter­ca­tion, po­lice said, he struck her, at­tempted to steal her lap­top and broke her door.

That night at around 9:15 p.m., he was lo­cated and ar­rested.

The man, 21, has been charged with as­sault, at­tempted rob­bery, ut­ter­ing threats to cause death and mis­chief.
